The Phantom Ship is an animated short film and is part of the Looney Tunes series. It stars Beans the Cat, along with the St. Bernard pups Ham and Ex.

Plot

Ham and Ex are reading a press release about their uncle Beans who plans to fly to the Arctic to explore an old galleon. Just nearby, Beans is at the open, greasing his aircraft, preparing for his intended trip to the north. Without their uncle's knowledge, Ham and Ex boarded the backseats. Beans himself finally hops in and flies the aircraft.

Beans arrives at the Arctic, parking his plane just near the so-called ship. Ham and Ex immediately revealed themselves, much to their uncle's surprise. Nevertheless, Beans just smiled, assuming it should be safe for them to come along.

The three young explorers set foot on the rickety old vessel. Upon bumping into objects and getting tangled with some of the ship's old sails, Beans tumbled his way into the hull. His nephews would follow moments later.

Inside the hull, they found a pair of buccaneers who have been frozen for a long period of time. To their amusement, they also found a pile of treasures. Thinking about warming the place first, Beans feeds the stove with two wooden chairs. This idea would become a big mistake. While Beans and his nephews are loading some of the treasure into their aircraft, the heat from the stove started defrosting the buccaneers, awakening those two.

When they were still loading, Beans and the pups were confronted by the awakened buccaneers. After running around for a while, Ham and Ex quickly board the plane and took off for their escape. Beans, however, was still on the ship, trying to keep distance. While doing so, one of the buccaneers hurled a barrel of gun powder at his direction. As the barrel detonated upon landing near its target, Beans was sent several feet upward by the blast. Coming to his rescue, Ham and Ex, who are on the plane, found and catched their airborne uncle. The grateful Beans kisses his nephews in the heads. The three explorers fly back home.
